I have always believed in a basic principle that a strong career can only be built on a strong foundation of education. Hence I decided to take up a master's in hospitality immediately after completing my bachelor. The United Kingdom has always been at the pinnacle of education for having the very best and leading universities in the world. Moreover, UK qualifications are recognised and honoured all over the world for their quality and right emphasis on research in education. Hence I did not think twice before choosing the UK as the destination to do my masters. My experience in The University of Plymouth has been overwhelming.

The university provided me with a vibrant, creative and challenging environment to nurture and hone our skills and knowledge. My life in the UK as a student pursuing an MSc in Tourism and Hospitality Management has given me a broader outlook of life and has taught me to critically analyse all aspects of it thereof.

The master's programme in the University was planned in a suitable matter which allowed us to juggle a part time job alongside and hence I decided to take up a job in a KFC restaurant which later on helped me base my industry oriented coursework on YUM Brands. By the time I finished my Master degree I was already promoted in KFC as a supervisor. John Willard Marriott always used a favourite quote, which was coined by Winston Churchill- 'Success is never final'. Hence, the next logical step was to pursue a successful career in the hotel industry and that is how I started working with the Mercure Bush hotel which belongs to the internationally acclaimed Accor Hotels as a food and beverage supervisor. My degree and subsequent post graduation in the realm of hospitality has definitely helped me know the basics of the work that I am into and also helps me train the employees with whom I work on a day to day basis and help them realise the importance of doing the job the right way. The various modules and lectures have given me an edge over my competitors and it has also provided me a platform to set the base for a long career ahead.
